A Picture Tells a Thousand Words

I hope you are ready for 6000 :)

We went to the Zoo today and the kids had a great time.  I have a ton of pictures and no energy to deal with that post tonight so instead you get mini-stories.  I have posted a few random pictures and will just tell about each one.  Sounds kind of boring but I think it will be fun :)

Wyatt Started off the day today with a bang by running into my room completely naked.  Next he took a shower and got all handsome.  As we were getting his breakfast ready he pulled a new trick.   He obviously has not been getting the response he wants by asking for "game" so he devised a new plan.  He came to me and looked right at me with his beautiful blue eyes and said "Apple- sauce"   It was seriously so so cute! He can say "apple" but has never tried to say applesauce.   I just love that he is using spontaneous language and was putting words together.   He was SO serious too.  I obviously knew right away that him asking for applesauce was only a ploy to get him the "game" that he so desired, but it was still very smart of him.   I love seeing his little mind work.  He actually knows what he wants and what he has to do to get it and it is amazing.  Here he is happily eating his applesauce and bacon :)
Two peas in a pod.  These two are so funny.  They are the best of friends and they fight too.  I was gone taking Wyatt to BB and Paige was doing Brody's exercises with him.  Hazel came up to Paige and said "I just want to do Brain Balance"  So Paige told her to go and get her sock.  As you can see they both have their sock on one foot and they both have their ear plug in one ear.  Paige said they both did the exercises together really well.  I wish I could have seen it!  We tried to get her to do them today but she was not having it.  One of these days I hope to get it all on film.  Okay - It won't literally be on film, but "get it all on digital recording device" just doesn't sound as cool.

Brody the Artist.  He changes his mind all the time but he has said before that he wants to be an artist when he grows up.  The other options are (or used to be) a miner (got the idea from a Lego set), an archeologist (Indiana Jones),  a Gymnast (like his mama used to be) but most recently - a guy that builds Lego structures.  These 5 things could not be more different.  Silly Brody.  Anyways, he likes to draw and I think he is pretty good.  He was writing a letter to his cousin today and drew some pictures on the back.  Of course they are all Star Wars related :)  The droid in the middle is my favorite.  I am a terrible artist and could NEVER even come close to drawing something as good as these drawings are- seriously.  He must have gotten his artistic ability from his father or his Grandpa Cliff :)

Wyatt got a star on Monday!  (And a Birthday Cupcake!) They get stars and Trophies periodically based on their performance and if they advance levels. I was worried the boys would not do very well Monday since they had been off for a week, but they were both AWESOME!  I am so proud of them and how hard they work every day.  Wyatt has worked as many hours, or more, than the average male since he was 2 1/2 years old.  I am hoping someday soon he gets a break :)

Brody got 2 stars!  He got one for his good work in the Sensory Motor room and one for great focus in the cognitive room.  He keeps putting his stars all together and the wall space around it ran out so he put them up behind this pamphlet holder on the wall.  It was a bit tricky to take a picture of them Bro!  Again - so proud of my cute, hardworking boys.  Brody really is SO good and cooperative and besides getting off task sometimes, he really will do anything you ask him to.  He is a sweetie.

The boys are supposed to wear patches over their right eyes for proper visual stimulation.  Naturally, Hazel wanted to wear one too.  She had me take this picture and send it to her Papa to remind him to bring her pirate costume from home when he comes next.   She told me to make sure that he doesn't forget the sword.....  You are so fun Hazel!  I love your well rounded personality!  Side Note:  Today at the Zoo Hazel said to me "I hope they have Ewoks".  Is that cute or what?  I guess I need to explain to her that Star Wars is just a movie.

Well, that is it for me tonight.  The lack of sleep catches up to me some days and I just have to keep things simple.  We love and miss all of our family and friends and can't wait to see you all again!

Goodnight y'all!

  2. I think you should have taken Hazel to see the Ewoks. Poor girl, I can't believe you let her down! I love the picture of Brody and Haze with the one sock on and the ear plug in. They look so cute! I love Hazel's expression.
