Three Months!

It was exactly three months ago today that we arrived at our new temporary home.  I can't believe it.  I have always had a strange relationship with time.  Part of me feels like it has flown by so fast.  The other part of me feels like we have lived here forever.  It is almost hard to remember the days of only having a golf cart for transportation.  I have almost forgotten that Brody was so hyperactive, or that Wyatt wasn't potty trained.

These three months have been so hard, yet so amazing.  It is REALLY hard being away from home and from my husband and the kids miss their Papa!  However, it is such a short time and such a small price to pay for the gains that we have gotten.  These 12 weeks have changed our boys' lives and our family's life forever and there is so much more to come.  That should tell you that this is the true answer to the problems our children are facing.  The Brain Balance Program in 12 weeks has given us 100 times what all other treatments combined gave us in 4 years.

I am so excited for tomorrow because the boys are having their 12 week assessments!  They will each have a new cognitive assessment as well as a new sensory motor assessment.  This will help us see exactly where they are now as opposed to where they started.  I can't wait to see the results!  We have 2 tests tomorrow and the rest are in another week or so and then I promise I will post the results.

I know that this was my path, but I can't help to get sad/frustrated sometimes thinking about all of the time, energy, money, tears, etc. that I spent on so many other treatments that just weren't they answer.  They all helped in small amounts, but they weren't addressing the core problem.

I know what it is like to be skeptical of treatments or programs for these children.  There is always something out there that you hear about that will help your child and it is hard to filter through them.  But to all those parents out there that are looking for hope and wondering if Brain Balance is what they should do for their child the answer is YES.  It is absolutely yes.  This is not a program that only works for some children.  It works for ALL children, with or without a label.  I PROMISE you that it is worth your time and money to enroll your child in this program.  At a very minimum, buy the book Disconnected Kids, read it and do the home program.  You can also go to your nearest center and have your child evaluated.  At that point they will explain to you what your child's strengths and weaknesses are and how they can help.  There were things going on with my children that I had no idea about.

I just read an article that I don't want to go into because it is too sad.  It was about a little 10 year old boy with ADHD who hung himself.  I cried and cried.  He was on the drug Ritalin and also on Prozac.  The article I read said that children are being started on drugs like Ritalin as early as 18 months old!  That is appalling.  I don't say any of this to offend those of you who have their child on medication because I know as parents we do whatever we feel is right for our child.  However, I also know that drugs don't address the real problem and that they can be harmful like they were to this poor little boy.  Since there is an option out there that is totally holistic, permanent and life changing, in my opinion that is the better route to go.  Here is the article for those of you would want to find out more: Article

There was another article of a 7 year old boy with Autism who wandered away from his own and drowned just this week.  These stories make me so sick.  These disorders can be deadly as you can see.  These children need help and the Brain Balance Program is offering that help.  Don't wait.

Some of you are saying that money is an issue - and it always is.  We have all spent so much money treating our children.  However, not only is this program worth every penny, it is a bargain.  There is no way I could ever put a price on the changes and improvements we have gotten.  You could go to 10 years of therapy and never get what we have gotten in 12 weeks.   If you don't think you can afford the program, the centers have tuition payment plans and discounts to pay up front, etc.  Some parents have even done fund raisers.  When we put in perspective how much we have paid over the last 4 years and compared that to one session of Brain Balance, it is pennies.  So rather than buying that new car or living room set, or that new TV or computer, invest in your child's future.  I promise you will never regret it.

Goodnight!

  1. My son was diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago. We have tried so much and meds don't work with him. Brain Balance seems like our last hope. I go tomorrow to get his assessments and find out costs and how long his program will run. Your blog gives me so much hope for my son. I am so happy to see that Brain Balance has helped your family and seems continue to help. Thank you so much for posting your journey. I just started a blog too. God Bless
